About Sandra Kostyk

Sandra Kostyk is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at The Ohio State University, Columbus Ohio.  She received her MD and PhD degrees from the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago and completed her residency in Neurology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. Following her residency, she received an NIH Physician Scientist K award to focus on research related to neurotrophic growth factor expression in the central nervous system.  She has served on NIH and FDA Orphan Products Program review panels and on several HD-related advisory boards.  She has participated in numerous HD clinical trials. Dr. Kostyk has been the medical director of the HDSA Center of Excellence multidisciplinary clinic at The Ohio State University since 2000.  She is dedicated to advancing HD research, increasing HD awareness, and improving care options for individuals and families affected by HD.

Fun Facts: “My favorite foods are chocolate and anything pumpkin, except for pumpkin lattes. My favorite activity is letting Molly, our Shetland sheep dog, help keep me in shape by taking me on regular vigorous daily walks.”
