About HSG 2017 Annual Meeting
Huntington Study Group’s annual meeting, HSG 2017: Elevating HD in Denver, Nov. 2-4, 2017, broke attendance records with 560 total attendees across three days. Attendees were trained in the latest clinical trial skills, learned about current and potential HD trials, and connected with hundreds of colleagues all dedicated to seeking treatments that make a difference.
On Saturday, HSG broke records with 71 attendees of the CME4HD health care provider training. PCPs, nursing home physicians, allied health care professionals, members of the pharmaceutical industry, and other providers spent a half day learning how to care for people with Huntington disease from world experts. Also, on Saturday, HD Family Education Day brought in 172 attendees who participated in a day-long program put together by a planning team of local family members, HSG Family Focus Group members, and local providers. The day featured a science update from the editors of HD Buzz, a keynote speech about resilience by Jane Barton, a look at what evidence there is (and isn’t) for using medical marijuana for HD patients by neurologist Benzi Kluger, and an emotional recap of the HDdennomore Vatican visit by Charles Sabine.
Progress & Directions

HSG 2017 Sponsors
Planning, organizing, and hosting the annual meeting takes nearly a year, requires the efforts of dozens of committed people, the contributions from several dedicated committees, most notably the Education and Nominating committees, and HSG’s small staff of five. Only some costs of the meeting are covered by sponsored research, so HSG relies on donations and sponsorship to make the meeting possible.
HSG thanks all of our sponsors (at right) for their dedication and commitment to seeking treatments that make a difference for HD by making this meeting possible.
